This 1975 Gibson Ripper is, production wise, right in the sweet spot.
As Gibson aficionados may know, 1973-1974 and from 1976 onwards Ripper basses had heavier maple bodies, but in 1975 they decided to try them with alder, which made them significantly lighter (this one is 8.8lbs/3.99kg). Wahoo!
This bass also features the 'Super Humbuker' pickups and the Q system (a 4-position rotary selector). This is accompanied by a master volume, tone and mid-range. Put all this together and you a get a vintage bass which is warm, punchy and articulate in equal measure - a completely legitimate alternative to all those vintage Fenders!
This bass is a joyous dichotomy: it has tons of character but, with its tonal options, also feels like a blank canvas for you to paint whatever musical masterpiece you feel like!
Comes with hard case and our customary 2-year service warranty.
